Obituary of Mildred Anderson-Flemming

Please share a memory of Mildred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mildred Ella Anderson-Flemming was born June 1, 1923, to Harry and Clara Potter, at her parents farm near Rosalind. She was the youngest of five children. She attended Rosalind School, and enjoyed playing ball. Before getting married, she worked as a clerk at Safeway in Camrose. In 1943 she married William (Billy) Anderson. Three sons were born to them and Mom always said her boys got her, her three daughters. In her early years she enjoyed gardening and working side by side with Dad. Fun times included curling, camping, fishing and crib. In the fall of 1976, Dad died, and during the process of selling the cows, Mom met Ross Flemming. They were married in September of 1978. They enjoyed 19 years of marriage, which included camping, fishing, playing horse shoes and Aggravation. She took extreme pride in the fact that she drove vehicles from the age of 14 to 82, with no tickets or marks on a vehicle. After Ross passed away, she remained on the farm and enjoyed floor curling at both Rosalind and Bawlf. When her eyesight failed, she then moved to Heritage Manor. The last few years she took a couple of bus trips, did word search puzzles and walked many miles. What gave Mom the greatest joy was helping her sons outside doing "whatever". Mildred is survived by her sister Eva Potter, her three sons and their families. Darrel (Loretta) of Sylvan Lake, Dennis (Barbara) of Kelsey, Rodney (Rosanne) of Kelsey, seven grandchildren, Robert (Sylvia), Colin (Kim), Scott (Angela), Darren (Karen), Maureen (Sean), Kevin (Misty) and Carrie, six great -grandchildren, Chelsea, Cody, Jordan, Jaime, Erica and Isaiah and a host of Flemming step grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sister's in-law, Mildred Schielke, Thelma Flemming and Bessie Klevgaard. She also leaves behind a small group of very close friends. She was predeceased by both her husbands, two sisters (Mae and Fern), brother Vernon (Bud). Funeral services were held on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bawlf Lutheran Church with Rev. Calvin Skriver and Rev. Jeff Ducille officiating. Interment followed in the Melville Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to The Edberg Lutheran Church, The Bawlf Lutheran Church, or the charity of one's choice.
