Evert Albert Carlson along with his twin sister Ethel were born July 14th, 1920 in Bawlf, Alberta to parents Ephraim and Olivia Carlson. Evert grew up on the family farm attending school at Oak Park. He remained on the farm until he married Vernice Schleuder in 1963 and they moved to the Wassner farm. To this union two sons were born, Todd and Trent. In 1958 his parents moved to Camrose, when with his brother Gunner, farmed together until 1980 when they sold the machinery. Evert then worked for another farmer until he retired and moved into Camrose where him and Vernice took in many activities; playing shuffle board, cards, dancing and visiting with friends. When they were on the farm they were very active, curling at Gladstone curling rink where Evert was president for many years. Evert loved dancing, travelling, playing cards and visiting with friends and watching all sports on T.V. After Vernice passed away in 2002, he remained in his apartment until 2008, then moved into Rosealta lodge where he made more friends and was very content there. Almost every Saturday him and his friend Blaine Paulson went driving, he often said he knew every farm and township in the area. Evert remained at the lodge until his passing April 19th, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital. Evert will be loving remembered and missed by his son Trent, brother Gunner (Louise) and many nieces and nephews and many friends. Evert was predeceased by his loving wife Vernice, son Todd, parents Ephraim and Olivia Carlson, sisters Elsie and Ethel and brother Carl; sister-in-laws Violet Krejci, Jean Carlson, Exania Schleuder, brothers-in-law Joe Krejci, Herb Storvik, Ted Havlik, Wes Schleuder. Thank you Evert for sharing your love, your laughter and your passion for life. We know you're dancing with Vernice in heaven. Blessed be your memory.
