Rev. Rosemary Cowan, 72, died at home on February 8, 2010, with family at her side. Rosemary was born in Belfast, N. Ireland, where she became a registered nurse. She emigrated to Canada in 1969 where she was active in her communities and enjoyed raising her two children. She became an ordained United Church Minister in 1988 and served in Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC before retiring to Forestburg in 2001. Rev. Cowan is predeceased by her husband Rev. Milt Skippon (d.2002). She is sadly missed by her daughter Lesley Kenny and son-in-law Greg House, her son Michael Kenny, sister Claire Malcolm and family, and brother Robin Cowan and family. Special thanks to extraordinary Homecare Aides Mairi Blumhagen and Joni Roberts, and RN Lorraine Clark. "May the road rise to meet you..." Funeral services were held Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Knox United Church in Daysland with Rev. Kathleen Taylor officiating. Inurnment to take place at a later date. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Mission & Service Fund of United Church Canada.
