Obituary of George Roper

It is with sadness and yet a sense of peace that his family announce the passing of George Roper of Hay Lakes and Camrose on Friday, February 5, 2010 at the age of 89.
George was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his wife Hilda; his children Connie Brook, Russell (Anne), Ken (Shirley), Linda McDonald, Randy (Lynn), Margie, Jack and Alyson (Greg) Ryan; fourteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
George was predeceased by his first wife Bertha; his parents Winnifred and Trevor; his siblings Trevor, Louise Nordin and Margaret Millar; his son-in-law Al McDonald and his beloved Godmother Myrtle Kinghorn.
A service in celebration of George's life was held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Hay Lakes on Wednesday, February 10th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Greg Kjos and Pastor Mark Morris officiating. Interment followed in the Hay Lakes Cemetery.
A special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at St. Mary's Hospital, Camrose.
If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alberta Lung Association or Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Hay Lakes.
