Emily Celia Peterson of Camrose passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the age of 94 years. Emily was born on March 13, 1917 at Armena, Alberta to Carl and Ragna Lyseng. She was raised on the family farm at Armena. On August 17, 1941, Emily married Allan Sware of Hay Lakes, Alberta where they lived on their farm. Together they raised three children, Rena, Trudy and Howard. Emily was a member of St. Joseph Lutheran Church at Hay Lakes, Alberta where she was the pianist/organist for many years. After selling their farm, they moved to Camrose and became members of Messiah Lutheran Church. Emily enjoyed knitting, crocheting, participating in games, curling, crossword puzzles, sewing, travelling and just being with people. Above all Emily loved the Lord and her family. Emily was predeceased by her husband Allan in 1980, a son, Jerome at infancy and a grandson Todd Stobbe at infancy; three sisters, Alna (Leif) Nisi, Hazel (Lester) Jornlin, Dorothy Anderson and two brothers Klemmet Lyseng and Ivan (Gerd) Lyseng. Emily was also predeceased by her second husband, Adolph Peterson in 1987. Emily is survived by her three children Rena (John) Stobbe; Trudy (George) Deley and Howard (Lorna) Sware; 8 grandchildren, Darci (Teresa) Stobbe; Dale (Lori) Stobbe; Darren (Roxann) Deley; Terry (Keeley) Deley; Jodi (Traci) Deley; Tricia (Clifford) Bilawchuk; Jason (Penny) Sware; Derrick Sware; 17 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Nicholas and Jaxson Stobbe; Brittney and Megan Stobbe; Clay and Cheyanne Deley; Ryder Deley; Taylor and Logan Deley; Ethne and Trygve Bilawchuk; Morgan, Whitney and Cameron Sware; Lainey and Payton Sware; extended family, Richard and Inet Knull; one sister-in-law Florence Lyseng, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. from the Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Norm Lentz officiating. Interment was held prior to service in the St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to St. Joseph's Cemetery Fund.
