Obituary of Richard Pfeiffer

Richard Rudolph Pfeiffer of Camrose, Alberta, formerly of Bawlf, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the age of 80 years. Richard was born in Daysland, AB. He was the oldest son of Henry and Minna Pfeiffer of Bawlf, AB. Along with his brother Art and sister Lillian (Voss), he attended Gladstone school and spent many hours curling and playing hockey. He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. Richard met Frances in 1974 at a dance in Red Deer. They married in 1975 and Richard became the proud father of Dana (Belmore) & Tyler. Karmyn (McAuliffe) was added to the family in 1976. Richard worked on the family farm until around 1980 when he began working for Stelco and Camrose Pipe. Richard and Frances moved to Camrose, AB. in 1996. He retired in 2001 and spent his retirement years camping, travelling and spending time with his 3 children and 12 grandchildren; Taryn Belmore, Brayden Belmore, Logan Belmore, Jaelyn Belmore, Evan Belmore, Keegan Belmore, Callen Belmore, Ryley McAuliffe, Juliah McAuliffe, Wyatt McAuliffe, Megan Pfeiffer and Hallie Pfeiffer. Richard is survived by his wife Frances; children Dana (Allan) Belmore of Beaumont, Tyler (Tammy) Pfeiffer of Edmonton, Karmyn (Peter) McAuliffe of Berry Springs, Australia; twelve grandchildren; brother Art (Gail) of Camrose; and sister Lilian (Garry) Voss of Bawlf. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Minna; and brother-in-law Michael McCrimmon. A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from the Grace Lutheran Church in Camrose, Alberta with Rev. Bob Deobald officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cross Cancer Institute, or to Habitat for Humanity, Camrose.
