Obituary of George Thomas

Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George Thomas was born in Biggar, Saskatchewan, on September 16th, 1932 and passed away on October 2nd, 2011 at the age of 79 years in Camrose, Alberta. George worked mostly as a farm hand, but did stints working on the railroad, working with carnivals, and did compete in rodeo's, even winning a belt buckle. His proudest job though, was simply being Dad. He loved living life by going dancing, playing pool, playing cribbage, visiting with friends, going fishing, and watching his baseball games. He lived simply, needing only his coffee, his cigarettes, a crib board and a deck of cards, his fishing gear, and a tv to watch baseball. Having friends come by to talk with, go fishing with, and beat at crib, was what he loved the most. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, and whose lives he touched. Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2011 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dr. Alan Richards officiating. Interment followed in the Camrose Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of George to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of one's choice.
