Obituary of Maria Zetsen

Mrs. Maria Zetsen of Camrose, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Annie (Theo) Engels of Holland, Garry (Sherry) Zetsen of Camrose, Mary-Ann (Bret) McCann of St. Albert, Joanne Zetsen (Bob Manning) of Medicine Hat, Diana (Robert) Murray of Picture Butte, Andy (Corrine) Zetsen of Camrose, and Peter (Teresa) Zetsen of Leduc. She is also survived by her seven sisters: Francis Zmurchyk, Gerdie (Jack) Rice, Toni (Adolf) Pries, Rita Simmons, Nellie (Steve) Saler, Lia (Albert) Fried, all of Lethbridge, and Joey (Len) Froese of Chin, Alberta and two brothers: Hank (Carole) Hurkens of Picture Butte and Cor (Lynn) Hurkens of Lethbridge. Maria is survived by 20 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren: Petra (Leon) and their children, Teun Sanne, Jet, and Guus; Theo (Jolanda) and their children Thom, Lieke; Mindy (Davin), and their son Nolan; Garrett (Kris); Lucas; Ryan (Nicole); Laura (Brad); Brad; and Heather (step-granddaughter); Bretton (Selina) and their son Benson; Nicole (Casey); Wendy (Steven) and their children Tristan, and Joshua and Emily (step-great grandchildren); Janice (Darren) and their children Issac and Georgia (step-great grandchildren); Mark (Candice) and their son Kaiden; Nicole (Brad) (step-grandchild) and their children Hailey, Hayden, Hunter, (step-great grandchildren); Kimberly (Frank) (step-grandchild) and their daughter Madison (step-great grandchild); Lisa; David; Brittany; Kayla; Andrea; Miranda; and Cory. Passing away at the same time, daughter Hendrika McGillivray and son-in-law Ian McGillivray. Maria was predeceased by her husband Andy, one brother Garry Hurkens, one sister Ghonda van Lieshout, and son-in-law Martin Dyrbye. A prayer service was held on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. from the Burgar Memorial Chapel (4817- 51 Ave, Camrose, AB). Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church (5010 48A Ave., Camrose, AB) with Rev. Eduardo Escober officiating. Interment took place in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to Esk-Omi Missions (P.O. Box 159, St.Norbert, MB, R3V 1L6).
