Pastor John E. Anderson of Camrose, Alberta passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 18, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. He will be forever missed and joyfully remembered by his wife, Marilyn Murray, daughters Amy (Colin) and Stina; stepdaughters Tamara (Gary) and Erica (Les); grandchildren Cody, Darian and Hope Mitro, Cadence and Trygve Warner, and Christopher, Larissa and Julia Gramlich; as well as many other family and friends. John's greatest joy was serving his Lord and Saviour during his lifetime of ministry.
A prayer service was held at Bethel Lutheran Church (4102 73 Street, Camrose) on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service was held at Messiah Lutheran Church (4810 50 Street, Camrose) on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place, and inurnment took place in the Camrose Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lutheran Theological Seminary, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan or Augustana Chaplaincy, University of Alberta, Augustana Campus.
