On November 21, 1951 she married Stan Trautman and moved to the Duhamel area where they resided for almost sixty years. They raised eight children and had a successful mixed farming operation. Later in partnership with their son Odean they established a noted, registered Holstein dairy herd. Mary was known throughout the community as a dependable, and tireless worker. She served in many organizations including the CWL, New Norway Ag Society, Camrose Women's Shelter, the Camrose and District Food Bank, Camrose & District Fish and Game, and the Duhamel Historical Society.
