Mrs. Jean Trautman passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at the age of 86 years. Jean was predeceased by her parents, first husband Whitney Treleaven, son Peter Trautman, one brother, and one sister. Jean Ohlsen was born in Camrose, raised and grew up on a farm near Ohaton. She attended Camrose High School followed by Normal School in Edmonton. Jean taught school at Dowling (New Norway area) where she met and married her first husband Whitney Treleaven. After his passing, she married Jim and settled west of New Norway where they farmed and raised their children until they retired and moved to Camrose in 1987. Jean will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 55 years, Jim; sons: Wayne (Louise) Treleaven of Langley, B.C., Les (Susan) Trautman of Camrose, A.B., Pat (Cindy) Trautman of New Norway, A.B., daughters: Virginia (Joe) Liebl of Camrose, A.B. and Margaret (Randy) Shinness of Millet, A.B.; chosen children: Terry and Suzanne Cameron of Duchess, A.B.; as well as 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Jean is also survived by her in-laws: Stan and Mary Trautman, and Del Haggerty; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Prayer services were held at 7:30 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2009 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Eduardo Escober as celebrant. Interment followed in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
