Jeremy Richard Thomas Fenton of Ohaton passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the age of 67 years. Jeremy Richard Thomas Fenton was born in Nottingham, England on St. Andrew's Day November 30th, 1947 to Cecil Roland Fenton and Margaret (Peggy) Fenton (nee Thompson). He went to preparatory school in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshireand on to public school in West Lavington, Wiltshire, finishing his advanced education in Manchester. He joined Holiday Inn in 1971, working his way up the chain of command in Plymouth, London Swiss Cottage, London Marble Arch, Bristol, England, Tignes in France, and Toronto downtown, Ontario before landing up in Vancouver downtown, British Columbia in 1975, when he emigrated to Canada. He moved to the Hyatt and then to the Sheraton in Vancouver before leaving for the Chateau Victoria in Victoria, BC, and then transferred to Calgary, Alberta with Delta Hotels. In 1981, he went out on his own, being upset with the greed and immorality of corporate hotels and owned/operated a series of five small town hotels in Central Alberta. He semi-retired to Camrose/Ohaton in 1997. In February 1999, he made the best "move" of his life when he married Wendy Lynn in Camrose, Alberta. In April 2001 he began working for the City of Camrose. Jeremy leaves to cherish his memory his wife Wendy; step-son David (Katie) Poudrier and their children Joseph, Samuel, and Benjamin; step-daughter Petina (Jason) King and their children Seth, Owen, and Reese; step-daughter Annette (Jonathan) Mackinnon and their children Austin, Anthony, and Isabella; sisters Mary Fenton and Judith (David) Clegg; nephew Tom (Lucy) Clegg and their children Clara and Jacob; and niece Rachel Clegg. A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from St. Andrew's Anglican Church with Archdeacon Jacques Vaillancourt officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
