Lois Kay Patterson of Camrose, formerly of Lloydminster, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the age of 77 years. Lois Kay Nielsen was born March 12, 1937 at Wilkie, SK. As a baby she lived on the farm in the Pan Muir distrtict near Wilkie, SK, then moved to a farm in the Phippen district. Kay took her grade 1 in Phippen School and grade 2 in Nattawa, she started grade 3 but finished in Streamstown, AB. The family moved in the spring of 1946 to the farm her Dad bought across the road from her Mom's sister Marion Davies, many days were spent playing with our cousins. Kay married John Patterson on June 19, 1956. They lived in the Streamstown area, then moved to Kitscoty, where the boys attended school. They then moved to Lloydminster and retired to Camrose, Heritage Manor in about 1992. John past in February of 2008. Kay continued to live in Heritage Manor with the help of her family in Camrose. She moved to Sunrise Village in 2013, then to the Louise Jensen Care Centre in September of this year. She passed peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of December 31, 2014 at the age of 77. She is survived by three sons Bill and Gary of Camrose, and Wayne and is wife Rosette of Edmonton; five grandchildren; and two great granddaughters; sister Olive Nielsen of Calgary; and brother Bob Nielsen of Streamstown. She was predecased by her husband John in 2008 and two daughters Brenda 1959 and Thelma 1973. A Funeral Service was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter oficiating. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
