Vernon Lester Campbell of Round Hill passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the age of 70 years. Vernon was born on September 19, 1944 at Round Hill on gramma and grampa Campbells' farm. Vernon was a typical farm boy playing with his dog Skippy, and his horse Smokey. He married Dianne Giebelhaus of Holden and they settled on their farm raising their children Pam and Glen. Vernon was a true farmer, he loved his John Deere tractor and sharing his love of his farm with others. He was an active community member, involved in the REA, Elks, Ag. Society, Cemetery Committee, Trondhjem Church and Curling Rink in Round Hill and then in Tofield. Vernon always had a strong presence and meant many things to many different people. Husband, father, grandpa, papa, uncle, friend and neighbor. Vernon is survived by his loving wife Dianne; daughter Pamela (Steven) Stollery, of Edmonton; son Glen (Roxane) of Edmonton; four grandchildren, Cody, Ben, Nikolas and Madalyn; three sisters, Marilyn (Ken) Olson, Bernice (Willis) Bolding, and Linda (Bryan) Simonson; two brothers, Dwayne (Linda), and Eldon (Sandra). He was predeceased by his parents Tom and Irene Campbell. Vernon will be forever remembered for his joking nature and will be deeply missed. The support of our family, friends and neighbors is greatly appreciated. A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014 from Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Garfield Vikse officiating. Inurnment followed at Emil Bosmans Memorial Garden Cemetery, Round Hill. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Bosmans Memorial Gardens, Round Hill, or to the charity of one's choice.
