Theodore Kenneth Rawson
(December 3, 1943 - April 17, 2023)
Ted passed away at the age of 79 at the University of Alberta Hospital on April 17, 2023. He is survived by his wife Carol; children Brian and Val (Jim); sister RoseMarie (Don); and grandchildren Owen, Lucas, Ian and Tora. He was predeceased by his brother Currie; and parents Paul & Dorothy Rawson.
Ted was born in Camrose and grew up on the family farm in the Kelsey area. He attended school in Kelsey and Bawlf. Following high school, he moved to Calgary to attend SAIT and apprentice as a mechanic. After a few years working in garages as an automotive mechanic, he returned to SAIT to study Power Engineering. His career took him to Fox Creek, Grande Cache, and the Forestburg/Galahad area. While Ted worked as a shift supervisor at Battle River Generating Station, he also farmed with his parents in Kelsey. After retirement, he and Carol moved to Camrose.
Ted was an active person who loved to explore and learn new skills. His interests varied over the years and included playing marbles, Meccano, chess, woodworking, building grandfather clocks, canoeing, camping, skiing, photography, archery, golfing and playing pool. He loved to travel with his family and was an involved community member throughout his life. Despite health challenges, he lived his life with intent and made a meaningful impact on those around him.
A Celebration of Life was held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023, (PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE) at the Camrose United Church, 4829 - 50 Street Camrose, celebrated by Rev. Helen Reed.
