Joseph Michael Orcheski was born August 31, 1944, but was not registered until September 13, 1944. In 1965, Joe took over the family farm from his parents. In the spring of 1983, Joe decided he wanted to do something different from grain farming and raising cattle, so he and Georgina went looking and came home with six bison heifer calves, and two bison bull calves. This began a 40 year career of raising bison; stressing quality over quantity, which he did very well. Joe has over 100 trophies and banners showcasing his success. He has shown at bison shows and sales all over Canada and the USA. He has also sold trophy bison across Canada, the USA, and into Germany, and still has a few bison on the farm today.
