My condolences to the Streberg family. My dad (Jim Link) worked with Otto as an order buyer for the Killam, Camrose, and St. Paul auction markets back in the 70’s and early 80’s. I always remember how much my dad respected him and he was always so nice to us kids. Always had a grin and a twinkle in his eye. Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.

Just read on facebook about Otto's passing. My sincere condolences to Marlene and the family. Spent some time working for Otto and Marlene as a teenager which included looking after the farm when Otto went south to take his auctioneer training. Attended many of his sales including one that we were part of. Very good at what he did and loved. Marlene (johnson) being a neighbor girl, from the Bethany area, and her family are long time very good friends and neighbors. Gods Peace to Marlene, her family and to the extended families on both the Streberg and Johnson sides.
Sincerely and with love,
Ray and Linda Kneeland.

In 1987 Otto was in charge of our farm auction. He did an amazing job turning a sad day into a success. He then went on to encourage my new career and found me some clients. My condolences.

Otto Streberg was very influential in my life as Otto helped to school me in my introduction to the cattle business. My initial introduction to Otto resulted in a long lasting respect and admiration of Otto.
Otto invited me and my partner Cor Van Raay to a Maine Anjou bull sale that he was managing and selling in a hotel in downtown Denver. This was many years ago, however the sale/event is still very clear in my mind. Otto had a presence and aura that surrounded him as he was in my mind bigger then life itself!! The excitement and enthusiasm that engulfed this particular event was due entirely because of Otto's. Some of these bulls sold for unbelievable prices as Otto had that knack, that ability to get more out of the market then any buyer thought he would ever pay.
Also as part of my business we routinely hauled black Maine Anjou heifers to Texas and Colorado for Otto, on behalf of his customers. I recall hearing prices for these cattle that were far in excess of the local market.
I also had the opportunity of doing business with Otto and his family over the years, participating in his weekly cattle sales at Killam, St Paul and Camrose. In fact I am still proud of the fact that John Streberg buy's our company feeder cattle on a regular basis. This relationship continues because Otto instilled in his family the virtues of trust and integrity.
Otto was indeed a generous man. On one particular occasion we holidayed with Otto and Marlene, and all their families on the Island of Molokai - part of the chain of the Hawaiian Islands. Otto and his family paid for it all. It was an unbelievable experience for me and my family and we still often talk about the trip, Otto, his family and the fond memories the my family got to enjoy because of Otto Streberg.
In my mind Otto is a legend. I will miss him.
My thoughts are with the Streberg family at this most difficult time.
