William "Butch" John Nyuli
(June 25, 1953 - October 8, 2022)
William "Butch" John Nyuli of Camrose, Alberta, formerly of Stettler, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the age of 69 years.
William (Butch) was born to Isabelle and Bill Nyuli on June 25, 1953. He was raised in Luseland, Saskatchewan, until grade eight, when he moved to Daysland.
During his time in Daysland, Butch enjoyed an active social life with his many, many friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was known to keep everyone in stitches.
After high school, Butch and friends, Harold and Ron, travelled to Spain and the Canary Islands. “What happens in Spain, stays in Spain”.
Butch’s career as a contractor took him to Fort Good Hope, NWT, where he spent over twenty years. During that time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the company of many life-long friends.
Over the years, Butch’s health deteriorated. At thirteen years of age he developed rheumatic fever, and his heart was permanently damaged. Over time, Butch’s energy levels decreased.
Along with his sister Glenyss, Butch retired to Camrose. The retirement years were particularly enjoyed by many visits with his nieces, nephews, and their families.
Butch had two bouts with cancer and unfortunately, not having a strong heart, could not keep up the fight any longer. He passed away at home in the loving care of his sister, Glenyss. This is how he wanted to go.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings Walter Nyuli of Wetaskiwin, Shirley (Gordon) Harkness of Lethbridge, Eileen Nyuli of Daysland, Patricia (Russ) McIntyre of Edmonton, Mickey (Jim) Miller of Killam, Glenyss Nyuli of Camrose, and Greg (Betty Ann) Nyuli of Fort Providence, NWT; and sister-in-law Kathy Nyuli.
Butch was predeceased by his parents Bill and Isabelle Nyuli; brothers Gerald and Tom Nyuli; and sister-in-law Lorraine Nyuli.
A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2022 from the St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 3605 50 St Camrose, with celebrant Father Kris Schmidt.
