Murray Robert Candlish

(March 7, 1957 - September 20, 2022)

Murray Robert Candlish of Daysland, Alberta, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the age of 65 years.

Murray was born and raised in Daysland, AB. He was an avid grain farmer and cherished member of his community that he lived in his entire life. He enjoyed participating in curling, baseball, town council, and loved nothing better than a good conversation with a friend and a hot cup of coffee. He will be remembered fondly by his loved ones by his warm heart, good hugs, and amazing crib skills. 

Murray will be greatly missed by his three children, Jason (Alicia) Candlish of Stettler and their children Ethan, Landon, and Rachel; Theresa Smitten of Saskatoon and her sons Adam, Calder, and Griffin; and Melanie (Trever) Kunka of Sherwood Park and their daughter Noelle. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Jerry (Laurie) Candlish of Edmonton, Joy (Ken) Hewitt-Smith of Edmonton, and Heather (Bob) Leeb of Medicine Hat; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Murray was predeceased by his parents Robert and Zerah Candlish; and brother-in-law Neil Hewitt.

A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 29, 2022, from the Our Lady of the Prairies Roman Catholic Church, 5202 59 St Daysland with Rev. Deanna Cox officiating.

In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Murray's memory may be made to the Daysland Arena Fund, or to the Daysland United Church.
