Obituary of Pearl Margaret Obleman
Pearl Margaret Obleman
(August 23, 1957 - November 24, 2021)
Pearl Margaret Obleman (Higgins) of Camrose, Alberta, formerly of Lloydminster area, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the age of 64 years.
Pearl was born August 23, 1957. She grew up in the Maidstone area and then later in the Irma area, playing with her many cousins and her dog Corky. She was a Brownie. She played ball. She was active in 4-H. As an adult she went on to work for many years in the insurance industry in Alberta, Saskatchewan and the NWT, and to cheer enthusiastically for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Pearl married Clarence Obleman in 1981 and they had three children. She was known to quote her mother in saying that her children were her greatest source of entertainment in life. Pearl loved her family fiercely. Although she hated to ask for help for herself, she would do whatever she could to help someone she loved, from sewing dance costumes and driving to track meets to baby-sitting grandkids and getting up in the middle of the night to drive to the airport.
Pearl read her Bible every morning and prayed for her family every day. She had a lot of conversations with God about the cancer that ultimately took her life, but she chose to trust Him even as her health declined.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Ed Obleman of Neilburg, Saskatchewan, Jennifer Obleman of Camrose, and Patrick (Amy) Obleman of Camrose; brother Richard (Sharon) Schempp of Neilburg, Saskatchewan; and grandchildren John, Libby, Jesse, Violet and June.
Pearl was predeceased by her husband Clarence; parents Violet Copeland and Malcolm Higgins; and sisters Betty Chamberlain and Fran Rusnell.
A private family service was held.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Pearl's memory may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
