Obituary of Merv Olshewski

Mervin Olshewski

(October 13, 1958 - June 7, 2020)

Mervin "Merv" Olshewski of Daysland, Alberta, formerly of Kamsack, Saskatchewan, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at the age of 61 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his partner Inger Hellström; children Marnie Olshewski of Calgary, and Devin (Danielle) of Calgary; four grandchildren; and brother Harvey (Bev) of Kamsack, Saskatchewan. 

Merv was predeceased by his parents Edward and Dora, and sister Twyla Burback.
  

Please come join us for our father, Mervin Olshewski’s celebration of life.  It will be held on July 18, 2020, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Daysland Community Centre (5130 50th St) Daysland.  We would like to hold a toast in his honour and share some fond memories and stories from his life.

Due to Covid there are a few rules we all must follow. We have been advised that no more than 50 people in each room, we will have the whole hall so there will be two large rooms as well as up to 100 people outside.  For those of you who would feel more comfortable wearing a mask please feel free to bring one.  We will have hand sanitizer at various locations for everyone’s use. If you plan on smoking please do so at the front of the building.

Another option for those of you coming from out of town is the availability of camping in the field behind the hall for free, if you need electrical hookups, they are available for $15 per unit per night. Please advise Devin or Marnie if you wish to camp so we can provide the number of units.

If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Mervin's memory may be made to ALS Society of Canada.
