Elizabeth "Doris" Patricia Moulder

(March 17, 1927 - November 3, 2019)

Elizabeth "Doris" Patricia Moulder of Camrose, AB, formerly of Hardisty, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the age of 92 years.

Doris Moulder was born on March 17, 1927 to James and Tillie Bell, on their farm in the Irma area.   Doris had five brothers, Irving, Robert, Doug, James and Rod. As being the only daughter in the family, Doris began at an early age helping with her brothers. As she grew older, she took a job at a dress shop in Hardisty. As Irma and Hardisty are not that far apart, it was not long before the paths of Doris Bell and Robert Moulder crossed. The rest is History. Doris and Robert Married on November 17th, 1953 in Camrose. They lived in the Hardisty area on part of the homestead that was started by Walter and Elsa Moulder. The farm land needed a home so Doris and Robert went to work, building their home with the help of family and friends and moved into it in 1956. They lived on the farm until 1992 when they moved to Camrose to retire, travel and spend time with all the kids and grandkids.

Doris was, to the last day, a kind lady who put family first. Once married, she and Robert began to build their family adding Eugene, Debra, Patricia, Gail and Denise. On the Farm, she loved gardening, baking, and most of this was done with one of the kids close at hand, sitting on the kitchen floor, or on a blanket at the edge of the garden. She was a great cook and always ensured that there was a good hot meal on the table or at harvest time to be taken to the fields and eaten while sitting amongst the straw. Meals always ended with pie and ice-cream or just ice-cream. Doris and Robert were inseparable and loved to travel to the mountains and did this every year. They always made a stop at Maligne Lake where they used to sit and just watch the ripples on the water. Doris never forgot her routine and right up to the end made sure that the laundry was done, dishes washed and put away, plants watered and pets fed. She loved her kids, grandkids and anyone who came to visit. She was always concerned about making sure you had something to eat, or that you shortened the visit so you could get home before dark.

Left behind to remember Doris are her son Eugene and Ursula of St. Albert; daughters Debra and Gerry of Campbell River, B.C., Patricia and Bernie of Sherwood Park, Gail of Camrose, Denise and Eric of Sherwood Park. She also leaves ten grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; brother Rod and his wife Doreen of Sedgewick. Doris was predeceased by husband Robert; and brothers, Irving, Robert, Doug and James.

A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2019 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel, 4817 - 51 Avenue Camrose with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating.
