Faith Vanessa Weiler

Faith Vanessa Weiler of Camrose, Alberta, formerly of Sherwood Park, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the age of 48 years.
Faith was born a happy bundle of sunshine on the 29th of March, 1971. She had an infectious smile and a knack for getting away with more than her older siblings. She spent her formative years in the wilderness of Sherwood Park. Her father was a stronger influence than we knew with Faith’s love of James Dean and the ‘68 Fastback Mustang. She had a fondness for animals manifest by Daisy the dog and her career in equestrianism (her love of horses would eventually lead to a bigger love in her life). At age 12, a day of sailing would be the start of her career in adventure sports.
After a year at Concordia College, Faith would complete her nursing training at the Misericordia School of nursing at age 22. She would spy her long-legged life partner at the tender age of 21 at the Cook County in a gray cowboy hat. The deal was sealed after some mean 2 stepping. Faith and Shane were joyously married on the 26th of August 1995 at All Saints Cathedral in Edmonton (was there a horse in the wedding party?) followed by a grand family gathering.
Faith would shortly start her career in obstetrics in Wetaskiwin. She loved her profession of bringing new life into the world. She developed a strong and lasting bond with many of her colleges. A trip to Cambodia to teach in rural health clinics was a highlight of her career.
Faith and Shane began their wonderfully tall family with the arrival of Sarah (1 August 1997) followed by Eric (9 January 1999) and Jacob (1 October 2003).
Faith’s adventurous side was nurtured by Shane and their many travels. Faith and Shane tried sky diving early on so everything else in life would seem like a piece of cake. Skiing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, hiking in the dark, climbing pyramids, driving a minivan far too long and crashing sail boats is only a small sampling.
Seeing the world was a huge part of Faith’s life with Shane and the kids. Trips to Oregon, Mexico, Bonair, Hawaii and many, many more would revolve around close life experiences for the whole family.
Faith was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. She never allowed this to define her. Her strength and character blossomed in the face of adversity touching all who knew Faith. She passed away on her own terms on the 24th of September, 2019 in the presence of her loving family in a way that will change us all forever. She lives on in the beauty of her three wonderful children and the memories in our hearts.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Shane; children Sarah Weiler of Camrose, Eric of Lethbridge, and Jacob of Camrose; parents Brian and Mary Caunt; siblings Mary Jo (Bill) Mulgrew of Kelowna, BC, and Calvin (Pauline) Caunt of North Carolina; parents-in-law Jim and Irene Weiler of Duncan, BC; brother-in-law Mike Weiler (Coralie Bleyaert) of Mills Bay, BC; and sister-in-law Jessica (Rick) Lemke of Duncan, BC.
A Funeral Service wase held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2019 from the CityLights Church, 4920 48 Street Camrose with Rev. Clayton Milgate officiating.
