Doreen Vernita Tennant

(February 20, 1932 - October 8, 2018)

 

Doreen Vernita Tennant, beloved mom, grandma, and great-grandma passed away peacefully in Tofield on October 10, 2018, at the age of 86 years.


Doreen was predeceased by her loving husband Wilfred and they spent most of their married years in the Provost, Alberta area. She was also predeceased by her daughter Ruby Hesje, great-granddaughter Sarah Thompson, and her sister Alice Fitzgerald.


Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Lilly (Peter) Hubert; Geri (Greg) Hall; her son Rob (Cindy) Tennant; and sister Betty Van petten.  Doreen is also the precious grandmother to twelve grandchildren and the great-grandmother to thirty-one great-grandchildren. 


Doreen had loving devotion for her family. She was known to be a hard worker, great cook, and caring person. Her cooking and baking was a blessing and enjoyed by all. For many years she enjoyed going to church. She often had a smile on her face and having a peaceful life was important to her. 


The family releases their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and relative with honor.

 

A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m. October 13, 2018 from the Cadogan Hall with Rev. Peter Hubert officiating. Interment has taken place in the Cadogan North Cemetery.

 

If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Alberta Cancer Foundation, or to the Ronald McDonald House.
