Michael Gordon Baily

(October 11, 1957 - October 4, 2018)

Michael Baily of Camrose passed away at the University of Alberta Hospital, on October 4, 2018 at the age of 60 years old. Michael is survived by his loving family, sister Carolyn Baily, brother James Baily, brother Jason Baily (Rowena), and sister Lisa Heidt (David), as well as his niece Manda Foss (Curtis), nephew Ryan Baily (Kirstin), nephew Derian Baily, and niece Lillian Heidt (John). Michael was predeceased by his loving parents Gordon and Gloria Baily.

   Michael was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan on October 11, 1957. His family moved to Camrose in 1972 when Michael was fifteen years old. He attended the Camrose Composite High School. He was a part of the weightlifting team. Michael graduated in 1975. 

   Michael began to work in the oil industry.  He worked there until our father Gordon started a Hotshot business. Michael enjoyed driving and when the oil industry went through a recession Michael went to work in the taxi industry. He soon became a favorite of fare-goers and many asked for him by name. His easy-going demeanor and strong work ethic made him excel at whatever he did. 

   He battled cancer for twenty years, heart and kidney disease. He fought a tremendous battle and he did so with a smile, strength of character and a sense of humor. He rarely complained and when he did he would apologize. He was a man with strong values, integrity and principles. He was very loved by his family. We will miss him greatly.     -  The Baily Family

A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2018, from the Burgar Memorial Chapel, 4817 - 51 Avenue Camrose with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Valleyview Cemetery.
