Lillian Dorcas Cribb

(June 19, 1932 - August 9, 2018)

Lillian D. Cribb passed away peacefully in her sleep at St. Mary’s Hospital, August 9, 2018, at the age of 86 years.

Lillian was predeceased by her parents Howard and Hannah Anderson of Newfoundland and her late son Garry Cribb aged 51 of Camrose.
Left to mourn her is her husband Clyde Cribb; her three children Ron (Rose) Cribb of Nova Scotia, Michelle (Randy) Bibby of Camrose, Wanda (Clarence) Brokopp of Bashaw, and Beverly Cribb (Garry) of Camrose; nine grandchildren Rochelle (Micheal) Elliott of Camrose, Crystal (Daniel) Nahajowich of Camrose, Cassandra Mcfyden of Camrose, Chantelle (Allan) Van Os of Camrose, Daniel Cribb of Camrose, Danielle (Jason) Charette of Vegreville, Conner Cribb (Ashley) of Nova Scotia, Hannah Cribb (Greg) of Nova Scotia, and Trever Cribb-Layton Jr. of Camrose; eighteen great-grandchildren; two brothers Arthur (Elsie) Anderson of Newfoundland and Gerald (Kay) Anderson Newfoundland; and her very close friends Anne, Shirley, and Wally.

Born a proud Newfoundland woman, Lill was known to be her mother’s “right-hand man”.  Whether it was taking care of borders, nannying for numerous family members, or shingling the roof, she could always be counted on to lend a hand. Lill was a family woman from day one. She married her loving husband Clyde in 1959 and immediately began her family, having two sons and a daughter. Lill was not perfect, but to anyone who knew her, they would agree she was the close thing to.
There was nothing she couldn’t do, from cooking three meals a day while working construction with her husband, to taking care of her parents while digging her own basement. She was an all or nothing kind of woman. Lill was a great dart player, competing in tournaments across the Newfoundland. She enjoyed playing cards on the weekend with her family and closest friends or gardening with her grandchildren. We ask anyone who knew and loved Lill as we do to join us in celebrating her life.

A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2018, from the Burgar Memorial Chapel.

If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Lillian's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation as well as Alberta Cancer Foundation.
