Josephine was predeceased by her mother, Frances (Daisy) Dietrich, father, Harry Dietrich, husband, Andrew Kopas, daughter, Margaret Kopas, and sister, Nell Kozma. Josephine was born in Heisler, Alberta in 1935. She lived on the family farm until finishing school and moving to Edmonton, Alberta where she worked as a comptometer operator. She then met her husband, Andrew and was married in Heisler on October 25, 1957. They moved to Viking, Alberta where they operated an automotive repair business. In 1969 they relocated to Bawlf. Josephine stayed at home lovingly raising her children. Then in 1971 the family moved to Daysland, Alberta and Josephine worked as a cook in the restaurant and later in the Daysland Hospital as a Dietary Aid. When Josephine retired from the hospital, she enjoyed her retirement spending her time baking and being with her family and friends. Josephine had a wonderful sense of humor, a loving heart and a home that was open to all! She belonged to the Catholic Women's League, loved music, her church and the Lord. She is survived by her children, David (Pat) Kopas, Rhonda-May (Kenneth) Trelenberg, Sally-Jo (John) Anderson, Theresa (John) Pratt. Grandchildren, Brandee and Lee Kopas, Luke and Nancy Anderson, Savannah and Rebeccah Pratt. Brothers and sisters, Madeline (Gordon) Pryor, Lawrence (Maureen) Dietrich, Loran (Kathy) Dietrich, Frances Craddock, Keith (Cheryl) Dietrich, and Kenneth Dietrich. Prayer services were held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 20, 2008 from Our Lady of the Prairies Roman Catholic Church, Daysland. Mass of the Resurection was celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2008 from Our Lady of the Prairies Roman Catholic Church in Daysland with Rev. Larry Pederson as celebrant. Cremation followed the Funeral Mass.
