Mrs. Marj Peterson of Camrose passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the age of 80 years. Marj was born in Le Pas, Manitoba on June 9, 2010, the youngest daughter to Andrew and Helen Sheluk. She started school at Le Pas, Manitoba, 1936 and lived on a farm 1-1/2 miles from town. Riding a bike on the gravelroad was not her favorite thing. The family moved to town and shortly after Marj graduated from High School. She went on to complete a stenographer course and was employed by the Department of Indian Affairs/Federal Government. She met her husband to be Darrell Peterson in Le Pas, Manitoba at a Saturday Night Elks Hall Dance. Darrell and Marj courted for two years, fell in love and were married on June 6, 1953 and then settled in Flin Flon, Manitoba. They were blessed with one son and one daughter. Later they moved to Camrose. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Darrell Peterson, one son Greg (Connie) of Camrose, daughter Sandra (Wes) Huseby of the Gladstone District. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Billy, David, Ashley (Trevor), Tracy, Austin, Madison, Brynn and one great-granddaughter Kayleigh. Marj was predeceased by her parents; two sisters and one brother. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Camrose United Church with Rev. Dr. Alan Richards officiating. Inurnment took place in the Camrose Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to The Alzheimer Society or the charity of one's choice.
