Larry Nelson of Camrose, Alberta passed away in Memory Lane at the age of 68 years on April 9, 2010. Larry was born on September 8, 1941 at St. Mary's Hospital in Camrose, Alberta to Herman and Hennie Nelson. Larry worked as a hired man on a farm for a few years. He then moved into Camrose and bought a house. He started work with Burrows Construction and later got a job with CP Railway where he worked for 28 years. Larry received several rewards for safety, not missing work, and for his 28 years with CP Rail. Larry enjoyed close relationship with his co-workers. Larry retired in 2000. He went on a trip to Disneyland with his sister and brother-in-law and they all had an enjoyable time. Larry found much enjoyment watching western movies and listening to old time music, going to Bingos, camping, fishing, and going for long walks. Being shy, quiet and much to himself he managed to build up enough courage to ask Alice Kneeland to marry him in 1975. In later years they divorced. From this union two sons were born, Dean and Andy. Larry was predeceased by his father in 1954, mother in 1962, infant baby brother Melvin in 1950, older brother Lorne in 2004, and brother-in-law Bill Rolston in 1986. Larry is survived by his sons Dean (Karen) and Andy, sister Maureen, brother-in-law David Ragosin, aunt Minnie Hudak, and many other dear relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Murray Cowan officiating. Interment will follow in the Camrose Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
