Obituary of Harvey "Jim" Drever

James Drever beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather was called home after a brief fight with cancer on March 13, 2010 at St.Marys hospital in Camrose, Alberta. James was born to Cyril and Marguerite Drever on February 12, 1940 in Hardisty, Alberta. He was raised on a farm in Hardisty with 3 brothers and 5 sisters, James was the second youngest boy. He then married Linda Duffield on June 12, 1964 and they had 2 sons (Gary and Ronald) and 2 daughters (Darlene and Donna) together. They continued raising their family together until Linda was taken from them in a tragic car accident on April 7, 1975. James married Debbie Reber June 20, 1987. Shortly after they were married they had their daughter Desirae. Among being a father James loved to ride horses and polish old brass. He enjoyed driving truck for a living and took pride in keeping his trucks clean. James and Debbie continued to reside in Camrose until the time of his passing. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Debbie, his children Gary (Cathy) Drever, Darlene (Fred) Wipf, Donna (Lyle) Lindballe, Ronald Drever (Amanda Luck), Desirae Drever (Jeremy Olesen), his brothers Ken (Iris) Drever, Doug (Helen) Drever, Ray Drever, his sisters Marion (Bill) Cooke, Marguerite (Hugo) Meland, grandchildren Weslee, Tyler, Kimberly, Brooklynn, Ashlynn, Chad, Laura, Dana, Farren, Nathan, Dustin, Gracie his great-grandchild Casseus, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Linda Drever, his parents Cyril and Marguerite, his sisters Muriel, Florence, Yvonne, and baby Drever. James was a loving, caring, humorous, and kind husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church (6406 44B Ave Camrose) with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
