The family of Larry McKenzie of Camrose sadly announce his passing on August 15, 2009 after a lengthy struggle with several health issues. Larry was born in Toronto, Ontario on August 24, 1939 to John and Jennie McKenzie. He served with the PPCLI in Calgary and Edmonton. While in Edmonton he met and married Janet Storvik from Bawlf in 1964.
Larry leaves to miss him desperately, his loving wife Janet, his son Philip (Louise) and daughters Caron (Mel) and Leslie (Mario). Also missing Grandpa/Poppa are Tonya (Kenny and Landen), Amanda (Greg), Rowen (Jon), Natasha (Curtis), Nathalie, Taylor and Michaela, Katie (Adriana and Jacob) and Elizabeth. He will be greatly missed by his brother Jim (Mariam), sister Kay (Ed), many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and his constant companions Duffy and Maxi.
He was predeceased by his parents, sons James and Kerry and Grandson David.
Cremation took place and inurnment was held at noon on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Bawlf Cemetery, followed by a gathering of family and friends. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
