Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Linda Storvik of Camrose, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the age of 79 years. Linda was born in Langham, Saskatchewan to Joseph and Mary Waldner on May 24, 1929. Linda's childhood was filled with working hard on the farm alongside her parents and four siblings, but her best memories were always of the singing and dancing they all shared at country dances and other festivities. Linda met and married Wilf Storvik who brought her to Alberta to begin their life together. They were married on July 28, 1951 and to this union two sons were born, Brent and Cam. Linda was an avid artist and loved the arts. This love inspired her desire to travel the world both as an independent woman, but also with her family and many friends. Linda has left her footprint around the world and some of her best memories were from her extensive travels. Linda has travelled on planes, trains, and ships and for years proudly packed up her RVs to follow her boys around western Canada while they worked the railway. Linda's passion was not only for her sons, but for food. She was famous for her wonderful baking and was never afraid to experiment with a new and interesting recipe. Linda was always excited to plan the menu for the next family occasion. Linda was a caregiver at Bethany for 30 years while she raised her sons and until her retirement. Her circle of love grew to include 5 grandchildren who were the light of her life. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her family as a wonderful woman who never backed down without a strong opinion, was well-read and a great conversationalist, and for her compassion and independence. Linda will be forever cherished by Brent, Lori, Amber and Larissa; and by Cam, Sue, Nora, Kelsey, and Owen. Linda was predeceased by her husband Wilf, daughter-in-law June, and brother Joey. Linda is survived by three sisters: Emma, Lillian and Catherine, and their families, as well as a host of friends and neighbours. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. David Eriksson officiating. Interment followed in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
