Obituary of Mildred MacPhee

Mil was born in Camrose where she resided her entire life. In 1947 she married Angus MacPhee of Camrose. Mil joined Alberta Seed Growers (later Alberta Wheat Pool, Seed Division) in 1952, becoming a Certified Seed Analyst. Travel was a big part of Mil's life. Personal trips and international conferences took her around the world. Angus and Mil enjoyed their cabin at Pigeon Lake which they generously shared with family and friends. Angus passed away at the lake in October of l978. Mil later purchased a home in Arizona where she wintered for many years. Mil was important in the lives of her siblings and their children, who will all miss her dearly. She is predeceased by Angus, brother Elroy (Bric) brother-in-law Doug Stewart, sister-in-law Arlet Reed, niece Anita Reed. She will be lovingly remembered by brothers Lloyd, Don (Agnes) Keith (Pat), Grant (Fran), sister Doris Myhre (Ole), sister-in-law Phebe Reed, many nieces, nephews and their families, and a host of long-time friends. A Celebration of Mil's life was held at the Camrose United Church (4829-50 St. Camrose, Alberta) on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Inrunment followed in the Camrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice are appreciated.
